The Sennheiser E 604 Dynamic Cardioid Microphone for Drums and Percussion is a dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, designed specifically for -up recording of toms, snare drums and percussion thanks to its compact design and quick installation using the included rim clip. The body is made of reinforced fibreglass, which effectively absorbs shocks while maintaining the necessary rigidity in live situations.
Its frequency response covers a range from 40 Hz to 18 kHz, making it extremely well suited to capturing dynamic attacks and transients in percussion, with a slight boost in the 1.5 kHz to 7 kHz range that enhances its presence in the mix spectrum. Supports sound pressure levels above 160 dB SPL without distortion, thanks to a low-mass coil that ensures fast and linear transient response. The microphone incorporates an anti-hum coil that reduces unwanted electromagnetic noise. It offers output on a 3-pin XLR connector, nominal impedance of 350(with a minimum recommended load of 1 k) and sensitivity of approximately 1.8 mV/Pa at 1 kHz.
Compact in size (approx. 33 mm diameter, approx. 59 mm length) and lightweight (60 g), it can be easily positioned on toms or other rimmed instruments wherever discreet but durable miking is required.
