The GRS 8SMP-8 is a 8" 8-ohm woofer specifically engineered for surface-mount applications. It features a damped poly cone with a rubber surround that minimizes unwanted resonances, delivering a usable frequency range from 30 Hz to 1,500 Hz. Its motor system includes a copper cap that reduces distortion by lowering inductance, and a vented pole piece that supports better cooling during high-power operation. The 25 mm voice coil uses an aluminum former to enhance heat transfer and maintain stability under load. With an SPL of 89.5 dB @ 2.83V/1m and an Xmax of 5.5 mm, the 8SMP-8 offers solid midbass performance and moderate low-end extension.
