The versatile Sennheiser MD 441 U supercardioid dynamic microphone is a high-precision dynamic supercardioid microphone, often recognised for offering sound quality similar to that of a condenser microphone. Its frequency response ranges from 30 Hz to 20 kHz, with a sensitivity of 1.8 mV/Pa ±2 dB and a nominal impedance of 200 . The capsule is mounted on a spring system to significantly reduce handling noise, while an anti-hum coil attenuates electrical interference or humming.
It also incorporates an internal pop filter to dampen explosive consonants such as P and B.
The tonal control uses a five-position roll-off switch for low frequencies, with M (Music) and S (Voice) positions that are extremely useful in different situations, and a brilliance switch to emphasise high frequencies.
The sturdy body is made of metal with a black synthetic leather finish and nickel-plated grille, combining protection and retro aesthetics. Its compact dimensions of 270 × 33 × 36 mm and weight of approximately 450 g make it practical to mount and hold.
